Livestock exports: the live cattle trade
Today more than half the beef and livestock we produce is exported and part of the livestock exports success is driven by the growth of the cattle trade. Australia exports close to 1 million cattle a year contributing to an overall livestock export industry worth over 1 billion dollars annually. The welfare of the cattle exports is a big focus in the industry and Australia sets the global benchmark for animal welfare.
